Exploring the Kanching Recreational Forest

Rawang Selangor, 18 February 2024: Kelab Kebajikan dan Rekreasi iDEC (KRiDEC) has organized a Weekend Recreational Activity with KRiDEC to the Kanching Recreational Forest which is famous for its 7 Tier Waterfall. The name 'Kanching' comes from the name of an endemic tree called 'Giam Kanching'. According to FRIM, this species is endemic, which means it is only found in one habitat, namely the Kanching Forest Reserve, Selangor.

The expedition was led by Azman Shah Mohd Shahar who is no stranger to the world of hiking. This expedition takes iDEC citizens to explore the wonders and uniqueness of nature up to the 7th floor of the waterfall. Stepping up each step, traversing the roots of the trees and the slippery rocks that are bumpy on some paths along +- 2.5KM one way, will definitely give a new experience, challenge and trigger an adrenaline rush after so long we rot in front of the screen and keyboard .

Facilities such as surau, toilet and bath are available near the entrance. The stalls sell a variety of snacks so that rice mix is also available for those who don't have time to prepare supplies. The entrance fee charged by the Recreation Department is RM3.00/person.
