What is Phishing?

The word 'phishing' is formed from the base words 'password' and 'fishing'.

Phishing is a method of identity theft where spam emails are sent to users or victims to persuade them to update personal information.

Victims will be asked to click on fake hyperlinks provided by predators as long as they use the email account.

The victim will be redirected to the same fake login site as the agency's website and subsequently update the victim's personal information.

Precautions to take:

Be alert or suspicious of any emails requesting personal information of users.

Please do not click on the link in the email message if you suspect the message is fake or you do not recognize the sender.

Do not share passwords, personal information or financial information via email.

Don't believe any offer that doesn't make sense.

Change your password immediately if you have already responded to the phishing email.
