What is the Quality Environment (5S)?

Quality Environment (5S) is the start of a healthy, comfortable and productive life for everyone at work. This is the basis for increased productivity. When successfully implemented in a company / agency with a Quality Environment (5S) will bring amazing changes.

Unnecessary items are removed from the workplace and make sure the equipment or goods are used only. Similarly, files or documents, make sure that the active and only reference is placed in the cabinet / file cabinet.

5S stands for five (5) Japanese words: Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu and Shitsuke. Collaboration and understanding are all essential to ensure that 5S practices are nurtured by every organization / agency. If not practiced, it will not happend.

The Infocomm and Communication Development Center (iDEC) held a series of 5S practices and training. The 5S Corner is created according to the Alpha Zone, Beta Zone, Gamma Zone and Sigma Zone.

iDEC also has a Green Corner that aims to create awareness of 3R Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
