SAN FRANCISCO UNITED STATES, September 16, 2019: Eleven delegates from Universiti Putra Malaysia attended the Oracle Open World 2019 conference to explore the future of database technology and integrate new networks through the conference.

Oracle Open World is Oracle's annual conference for Oracle customers and technologists worldwide. This year’s OOW promotes The 3-day conference promoting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Autonomous Database as its main focus, was filled with several keynote addresses, experience and technology sharing sessions as well as information technology products and solutions exhibitions.

The program was continued with technology and experience sharing session by CISCO at the CISCO headquarters in San Jose, United States. The session includes CISCO's research and collaboration program with Stanford University as well as several IoT initiatives implemented by CISCO through CISCO Smart City Initiatives. Methods of strengthening the data center infrastructure have also been presented. The delegation also visited several IT companies such as Google, Facebook and Intel.

In San Jose, the delegation had the opportunity to establish a research network with Professor Mohammad Fayad of San Jose State University. Mohammad Fayyad is a Computer Engineering professor specializing in Software Engineering. The topics discussed are related to producing writing as well as obtaining bilateral research grants and how to enhance holistic system development.

To continue the journey and increase the visibility of UPM in the United States, participants have enjoyed a one-day hiking program at several locations such as Half Dome View and Bridalveil Falls in Yosemite National Park. The USS Midway Museum was the final location of the program, located in the heart of San Diego, California at Navy Pier. The museum is the historic Midway Carrier. It contains a large collection of aircraft, mostly built in Southern California.

The program delegation were amongst system developers and researchers from InfoComm Development Centre (iDEC) and Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FSKTM) UPM for the National Integrated Information Security Threat Factor Profiling (NIISTFP) for ICAAS. The project is also a collaboration of Cyber ​​Security Malaysia and UPM Consultancy & Services Sdn Bhd (UPMCS).
